CBSA releases new data 2025

CBSA has published statistics as of July 28, 2025. Key points:

  • 12,697 people have been removed in 2025.
Quebec and the GTA are the two regions with the highest numbers.
    • The group most affected includes refugee claimants who were refused or failed to follow required procedures.
Mexican, Indian, and Haitian nationals top the removal list.
More than 30,000 cases are sitting in the “pre-removal” inventory, meaning removal can be carried out at any time.

What matters here
Canada is processing faster and enforcing more strictly. Small mistakes you think are trivial, such as missing documents, failing to update information, unauthorized work, violating study conditions, or slow responses to letters, can put you in a highly risky situation.

If you have any immigration file, whether PR, work permit, study permit, or a refugee claim, do not take it lightly. Once you end up in the “pre-removal” stage, the chance of saving the file is very low.

Most of the cases SICON has successfully handled were possible because clients reached out before things deteriorated.

If you or someone you know has:

  • received a letter from CBSA,
    • had an application refused,
    • signs of a status violation,
    • or simply wants to check whether their file is at risk,

Contact SICON early and inform them of your current situation. At this stage, Canada is no longer lenient and delays are often the reason cases lose their opportunity.
