Latest Update: How to Submit a Worker EOI for AAIP (Alberta) 2024
Starting September 30, 2024, if you want to receive an invitation to apply under one of the worker streams of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), you will need to:
1. Submit a “Worker Expression of Interest” (EOI):
– The EOI is an online form where you must self-declare information about yourself through the AAIP portal.
– There is no fee to submit an EOI.
– Each EOI will be scored and ranked based on the AAIP’s EOI points system. (I’ll attach the link to the EOI points system in the comments below!)
– After submission, you will be placed into a pool to be considered for selection.
2. Criteria for selection and invitation:
– AAIP will conduct ongoing draws from the EOI pool for specific worker streams and pathways.
– The selection of candidates will be affected by factors such as EOI score, labor market needs, the number of applications submitted, and provincial priorities.
– If selected, you will receive an invitation to apply via email.
3. Important notes:
– Although the new system will be available starting at 10 a.m. on September 30, 2024, AAIP will not immediately conduct draws from the Worker pool but will begin mid or late October 2024. There’s no need to rush to submit your EOI.
– Preparation steps:
+ Ensure you meet the eligibility requirements for one or more AAIP worker streams.
+ Carefully review the EOI points system to understand the type of information you will need to provide and how points are awarded.
+ You cannot create a new Worker EOI if you already have an existing Worker EOI or Entrepreneur EOI, or if you have an AAIP application that is either in draft or active. Existing applications or EOIs must be withdrawn before creating a new Worker EOI, as you can only submit one Worker EOI.
+ Create an Alberta.ca account if you don’t have one. You can use either a basic or verified account.
