π₯ GOOD NEWS: Canada has officially announced the Permanent Residence Pathway for Home Care Workers, allowing home care workers to obtain permanent residence (PR) upon arrival in Canada! This marks a significant improvement over previous programs, simplifying the immigration process.
π OFFICIAL OPENING DATE: MARCH 31, 2025!

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has confirmed the official launch date for the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots.
π Announced earlier in 2024, the program is set to open on March 31, 2025 officially.
π This pathway enables home care workers to obtain permanent residence (PR) upon arrival in Canada, replacing previous pilot programs that expired in June 2024.
β WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
To qualify for the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots, applicants must meet the following criteria:
πΉ Language Proficiency: Achieve at least CLB 4 on the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB);
πΉ Education: Hold a credential equivalent to a Canadian high school diploma;
πΉ Work Experience: Candidates do not need prior work experience in Canada. However, you will need to have recent and relevant work experience or have completed a credential in home care training for at least 6 months. Recent work experience in the home care field is required.
πΉ Job Offer: Secure a full-time job offer in-home care.
π IMPORTANT CHANGES
Previous caregiver immigration programs have been discontinued, including:
β Live-in Caregiver Program (2014)
β Caring for Children Pilot & Caring for People with High Medical Needs Pilot (2019)
β Home Child Care Provider Pilot & Home Support Worker Pilot (June 17, 2024)
π The Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots will fully replace these programs, providing a new legal pathway for skilled home care workers to immigrate to Canada.
