🛫 Great news for Start-up Visa (SUV) applicants in Canada!
Starting October 3, 2024, the Government of Canada officially allows open work permits for SUV permanent residence applicants who are identified as essential members of their start-up team.

✅ Here’s what you need to know:

🔹 If you applied after October 3, 2024:
You may be eligible for an open work permit, which allows you to work freely in Canada (not tied to a specific employer) while waiting for your permanent residency to be processed.

🔹 If you applied before October 3, 2024:
Your application will still be assessed under the previous instructions – meaning you’re only eligible for an employer-specific work permit.

🔹 Important update for employer-specific work permits (code A77):
Applicants are NO LONGER required to submit a new Letter of Support from their Designated Entity or a new Commitment Certificate. This simplifies the process and saves valuable time.
