Updates to the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) Application Process for 2025
The Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) will reopen for all employers to submit applications on January 29, 2025, at 9:00 AM Yukon Standard Time. This year, the program will transition to an intake-based model to manage the volume of applications.
🔹 Details:
– The intake starting on January 29, 2025, will accept a maximum of 125 completed applications.
– Once the maximum number of applications is reached, the program will close until the next intake.
🔹 Reason for the change:
Unprecedented demand for YNP in 2024 necessitated a pause in applications from employers in Whitehorse.
– The new intake model aims to spread applications more evenly throughout the year, allowing employers and foreign workers to better plan their submissions.
– It also prevents over-submission beyond the allocation received from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), as experienced in 2024.
🔹 Intake plan:
– Expected: Intakes will occur quarterly.
– Dependent: The number of intakes and applications accepted each year will rely on allocations from IRCC. The Government of Yukon has requested an increase in allocations for 2025 and will adjust the intake process if necessary.
🔹 Additional announcements:
After receiving the 2025 allocation numbers (expected by the end of February), the government will announce future intake dates and the maximum number of applications per intake.
