OINP Breaks Through with 5,000 New Nominations!

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)—Ontario’s provincial nomination program for 2024—has increased its target by 5,000 nominations compared to 2023 (from 16,500 to 21,500). This is great news for those looking for Permanent Residency (PR), residing in Ontario, and finding the Express Entry program too difficult due to high CRS scores.

If OINP nominations are distributed by stream the same way as in 2023, that means:

⬆ 1,785 additional Master’s & PhD Graduates can get PR!

⬆ 259 more nominations through the International Student Employer Job Offer Stream!

⬆ 2,500 more nominations through Express Entry (likely for folks in healthcare, tech, and skilled trades).

The increasing number of PR applicants through OINP over the years shows that the province still needs more immigrants to fill labour and skills shortages in the province.

It can be seen that if you are eligible for OINP, you can increase your chances of immigrating to Canada without a very high CRS score or French language proficiency, as OINP’s scores are still much lower than the federal government’s.

Your immigration plans may be affected by each new provincial policy. Instead of being confused, you can message SICON right away!
