Alberta’s New Immigration Pathway for the Tourism Industry 2024

In 2022, 32 million people visited Alberta, generating $10.7 billion in revenue and supporting over 80,000 full-time equivalent jobs.
Alberta accounts for 11% of all tourism-related businesses in Canada.
That’s why they are introducing many policies to retain and attract workers in the tourism and hospitality industry in the coming March.
✈️ Starting March 1, 2024, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) will open a new stream to help the tourism and hospitality sectors in the province address labor shortages and other issues.
⏲️ Therefore, On March 1, 2024, applications for a limited number of positions in the Tourism and Hospitality industry will be accepted for immigration to Alberta. Furthermore, Alberta Immigration will prioritize processing these applications.
To be eligible for the Tourism and Hospitality stream of the immigration program:
✅ Applicants must have a legitimate full-time, non-seasonal job offer from an approved employer in the respective industry.
✅ Additionally, individuals who have already met the requirements to settle permanently in Alberta and have worked for a tourism or hospitality company for at least 6 months will be eligible to apply for the tourism and hospitality streams.
When AAIP opens for applications on March 1, 2024, more information will be available about the requirements and application process.
